EFE 26404 "DAIMLER UTILITY" - EAST YORKSHIRE
I have received a number of emails regarding the above model. All point out that the model is in fact a Guy Arab and not a Daimler. I have raised this issue with EFE who confirmed that a mistake has been made and an explanation will be given in the next subscriber newsletter, which is due out within the next few weeks. As soon as I receive my copy I will post details to the site.

CLASSIC BUS MAGAZINE - SHOWBUS MODEL
EFE have advised that they are not producing a code 2 model for Classic Bus Magazine for this years Showbus.

CORGI PRODUCE TOY ROUTEMASTER FOR LOTHIAN BUSES - MAC TOURS

I am grateful to Richard Walter for advising me that  Corgi Classics have produced an open top Routemaster for Lothian Buses. The model, is the standard well used "toy" Routemaster Open topper casting in the livery of subsidiary company Mac Tours and is in the familiar red and cream colours with tampo printed fleet names and Vintage Bus route branding. The model has the registration 858 DYE and is based on real bus 15 in the fleet which, although originally featuring Mac Tours livery, now wears the blue, yellow and red livery for the Britannia Tour.

The box for the model carries the number CP82310 "Mac Tours Open Top Routemaster Edinburgh". The model is priced £5 and is on sale over the counter at the Lothian Buses Travel Shop on Waverly Bridge, Edinburgh.

SITE MAINTENANCE
I have now completed the "behind the scenes" maintenance mentioned on 18th August.

Thursday 21 August 2003

POSSIBLE INTERRUPTION TO SERVICE
During this coming week I will be carrying out behind the scenes maintenance on the site and then transferring it to a new web server. This is to give me a lot more space on which to publish picture files. This transfer may result in a reduced quality of service during this week with a possible total loss of service for a short period of time. I will try to keep any interruption to  a minimum.

CORGI OOC OM41102 E.LANCS HUDDERSFIELD
Following release of the above model, I received a number of items of correspondence regarding the colour of it (all felt it was too orange in colour). The orange hue of the red can be seen from the photograph kindly supplied to me by S & D Models - CLICK HERE to view the photograph. A visitor to my site wrote to Corgi expressing their disappointment at the colour. The following response has been received from them and I felt may be of interest to many of you.

"Thank you for your letter regarding OM41102.

Without beating about the bush, I have to say you are right - it is another blunder! Our manufacturing unit was instructed to produce this in Post Office Red but, in fact, did it in Poppy Red. I can only apologise most sincerely for this".
