If you would like to find out more about the charity then their web site can be found at www.archiefoundation.org The model will be based
on First Aberdeen fleet number 133 a Volvo B7TL with Alexander 400

understand it will not carry a CMNL stock code. Details of the model are
as follows: I understand that the model will be available for purchase from First Aberdeen at a cost of approximately £23.00 + P&P and will be released late June/July. NEW MODELS ANNOUNCED BY
EFE EFE have announced new models for release as follows. Further details will be published as soon as they are available: 17303 Leyland National MK1 Southend Transport 20129 Bedford OB Leathers Coaches 27210 Leyland TD1 (open) Western National 26404 Daimler Utility East Yorkshire 28004 Daimler DMS (1 Door) Derby City Transport 29801 Wright Dennis Arrow London & Country EFE SUBSCRIBER NEWSLETTER The EFE subscriber Newsletter (2nd Mailing 2003) arrived this morning. I have reproduced below some extracts from Mr Frank Joyce's (Managing Director of Gilbow Holdings Ltd) letter to subscribers which I feel may be of interest to you. ".........I have received a number of comments and concerns regarding gimmicks and toy like features that are being added to some of the model buses that have appeared on the market recently from Hong Kong companies. The concerns are that we might consider incorporating these types of gimmicks into Exclusive First Editions bus models. As new models are designed I must keep aware of market trends while keeping focused to our objective of producing models that capture the spirit of the vehicle while achieving fine body detail. The inclusion of opening windows, doors and engine covers in almost all instances detracts from the fine detailing of the model and in the long term is not the way to go as it turns models into toys. However there are some features like rear view mirrors that can improve some models and where appropriate these will be included on suitable models. I have been at this same point before at Matchbox Toys when moving gimmicks were added to the 1-75 range. The long term effect was very destructive on the brand as it was not sustainable at the price and gradually as prices increased the market was eroded. Similarly the argument is made to me that these extra complicated models can sell at a higher price and collector will be happy to pay more, I think not. History tells us that it is not the case and we will not be following this trend. I have been considering what other themes could be created and on trawling through the photo's and suggestions sent to us over the years we have found a number of buses used by the police forces across the country. Having identified about 6 good subjects to be modelled, it is our intention to release these over a period of 12 to 18 months, any thoughts and comments from subscribers would be welcomed. We have arranged to make two Leyland TD1 bus models for the Australian market and these will be sold in Australia by a company called Trux. They are both in the livery of the Metropolitan bus company working routes 88 Enfield and Sydney and 120 Bondi Beach North and Railway. As part of our service we have arranged to make a small quantity of each available to subscribers in the U.K. and the full details and order forms will be sent to you in the next mailing......."
