A previously unannounced commissioned model is mentioned:
Xelabus SLF Dart.
"We have been commissioned by Xelabus of Hampshire to produce a model of their Plaxton SLF series 2 Dart in the company’s very smart livery, which is similar to the old Aldershot & District bus company. These models will be used to promote the bus company and to raise funds for the Neuroblastoma Society for children’s cancer research. These models will be available late June from Xelabus Ltd. Unit 10 Barton Park lnd. Est. Chickenhall Lane, Eastleigh. S050 6RR."

Mr Joyce gives some explanation to factors that are affecting the supply
of models:
"Firstly I must apologise for the lateness of this mailing letter. There just seems to be so many things to do these days that require my attention and distract me from finishing the letter.
The speed with which manufacturing in China is changing, means that the situation needs to be monitored on a daily basis to ensure we maintain a regular flow of models for our collectors.
The latest problem to disrupt production is the development of a new monster city, which is being built in the area where many of the manufacturers are located. Factory owners are typically offered a token payment and given three months to re locate or face the consequences.
Closer to home, our offices in the Lea Valley fall within the disruption zone for the games, having the Olympic Park to the South and the White Water Park to the North. We can only speculate how this might disrupt our staff and the supply and distribution of our models. One thing we do know is that we will have a ground to air missile base just up the road to us at the Chingford Reservoirs, so your models will be
safe".

Well
the waiting is nearly over; it’s been almost twelve months since the
announcement from Forward Models about producing a Birmingham Standard model
bus.
I
met with Derek Perry last week in Birmingham who had with him some of the
samples of the model, they look very impressive and I can assure anyone who
has waited – it will be worth it.
Even
thought the RRP has increased we shall still honour our price that was first
advertised, the only thing that has increased is the p&p which has gone
up by 50p for the first model.
All
models are expected in July and YWBC will be the first in the world to
receive them (World Exclusive) as we have supported the project from the
outset.

COPYRIGHT
INFRINGEMENT
I am sorry to have to mention this subject again. It has been brought to
my attention this evening that at least 49 photographs from the Gallery
pages have been published on Flickr in breach of this sites copyright. In
most cases not only have they copied the photographs but they have used my
file name to title the copied photograph on their page and also copied the
descriptive text. I do not tolerate this sort of behaviour and have fired
off a strong and detailed Breach of Copyright complaint to Flickr. The
person who has copied the photograph has obviously visited my site a number
of times and if they read this article I suggest it is in their best
interests to remove them ASAP before Yahoo deal with them. A written apology

for a proper purpose provided it is with my prior consent. What I cannot
stand is blatant copying and then not only having the cheek to pass the photograph

MASTER NORTHCORD UPDATE
Further to my news articles of 17th and 18th May I have received a reply
from Mr Danny Chan. I asked if the report was true that some production had
resumed. He replied "...In fact there is no any good news
regarding the production of the bus model in Dongguan factory. I have no
idea on this subject at the moment".
From
his reply I think it is safe to assume that the issues have not been
resolved at this time and that we will not be seeing any new models in the
short term.

CLUB 2012 OMNIBUS MODEL
I have just spoken to the Corgi Collectors club who have advised that
the 2012 Club model for those who choose to receive a model as part of their
Club membership will feature the following:
Wright Eclipse - Lothian "Mary Queen of Scots"
No
other details are known at this time. From my limited knowledge of Lothian
Buses I assume this will be one of the batch branded for route 49. Please
correct me if I am wrong.

OOC MODEL OM41608A/B Crossley DD42 LUTON CORPORATION - UPDATED PP
PHOTOGRAPHS
I have received updated PP photographs of the above model today from
Corgi together with some information about the bus being modelled:
"Due
for release in August, OM41608A/B Crossley DD42 makes for a great addition
to Corgi 1:76 scale Original Omnibus Collection. We think you’ll agree
that the pre-production model, seen here, looks superb and promises toward a
top quality final product. This dual destination bus is headed to Seymour
Avenue as OM41608A and Park Square as OM41608B.
This
was the first Crossley delivered to Luton in 1946 and served Luton
Corporation until scrapped in 1963. Following the war, major fleet
requirements were necessary and 60 Crossley DD42/3Ts with automatic turbo
transmission were ordered. These were seen as the natural replacement for
the successful Daimler fluid semi-automatics which the pre-war drivers had
become used to. There were to be 12 Highbridge and 48 Lowbridge vehicles but
due to supply difficulties the order was reduced to 32. Despite their
initial popularity these buses were to prove most unsuitable as was found
with many other municipalities. They were unreliable with very heavy fuel
consumption. In 1953 replacement AEC constant mesh gearboxes were fitted at
the AEC repair depot of Southall in London".

Further to my news article of Thursday evening, I have written to Mr
Danny Chan to see if he is able to clarify the position with regard model
production as I have received a report from another trader which contradicts
the Time Tunnel Models report. I will let you know what he says as and when
I hear from him.
NEW
MODEL FROM SUNSTAR - CORRECTION - NO NEW MODEL
Further to my News report of Tuesday evening it transpires that there is NO
new model from Sunstar. It appears that a mistake occurred as a wholesaler
who buys from the UK distributor miskeyed the item onto his stock computer
and so it flagged up as a new item in their new announcements email. I
have deleted reference to the model from my listings.

Time Tunnel Models have reported the following today: "I
understand that some production has resumed on this range and that the first
model will come through later in the Summer. Production was halted
when the factory side of CMNL went into receivership, so I assume they've
started to outsource production".
I
have not received confirmation from Mr Danny Chan at this time.
