Bus Museum Spring Gathering

Unfortunately
the day started off very wet and windy.
My first umbrella disintegrated about 30 seconds after I got out of the car
(luckily I had a spare). The temperature this morning was about 8 degrees.
When I arrived at Wisley at 11.00 there were only a
handful of stalls up and a number of other stall holders were sat in their
cars/vans not attempting to set up stall. Luckily it stopped raining just
before 2.00 and when I left about 3.30 a number of stall holders had put up
tables and were hoping for some late sales. Unfortunately the weather made
photography very difficult and I was having the dry the lense before every
shot and shelter under the umbrella at the same time.
The highlight of the day for me was being able to drive STL2377 for about 30 minutes, superb and having never driven a bus with pre-selector gears before it took a little getting used to. However, after about 10 minutes I felt quite happy and had a very enjoyable time. There was also opportunities for people to drive a First Bus Marshall Dart but having driven similar I did not bother. The
two show models were on sale: Further to my News of 26th April, I was able to meet Colin Lawrence in the Museum tent and had a look at the new Jotus BEA AEC Regal IV RF. The detail really is superb and photographs do not really do it justice.
