NEW EFE
MODELS AT THE SOUTH EAST BUS FESTIVAL I returned a short while ago from a really good day out at the Show. I am not sure of the total number of buses on display but it was at a guess it was approx 120. The breeze was a little chilly, although the temperature was about 13 degrees. It was cloudy with occasional very heavy cloud which made photography a little challenging on a couple of occasions. I sat in a very interesting hour long talk by John Bishop (author of various books published by Ian Allan) on the history of Southdown Buses and who very kindly signed a copy of his "Streets of Brighton" book for me which I acquired yesterday. EFE had a stand in the display hall and had a number of previously unannounced models on display as follows (I hope to publish photographs of these later this evening): 15719 Plaxton Panorama Coach

BUS SERIES - Borgward BO 4000 (1952) - Wander Falke (Germany) Not all have fleet names but I've shown those that have after the year along with the country represented going by research on the internet or clues on the model (e.g. the Reo has Oslo as a destination) The series seemed to come to an end (though others were shown in a leaflet sent out early on) then a few more appeared including: Atlas are now doing an Ikarus/Hungary series which includes the two Ikaruses above, the '66' is in the same livery, the '311' different. SHOWBUS
2015 - NEW LOCATION The April edition of Buses magazine arrived today and advises that Showbus 2015 (20th September 2015) will be at a new location as Duxford was not able to accommodate it this year. Showbus will now be held at Woburn Abbey 23 years after it was last held there. The article remembers that the move to Duxford was prompted partially by the experience of 1992 when there was bad flooding around Bedfordshire and the organiser Martin Isles advises that "Contingency plans will be in place this year" Wednesday 18th March 2015 |

FAKE EFE
31513 TOWER TRANSIT COMMISSIONED MODEL ON EBAY I have been sent the below photographs by a visitor to my website of a model which has appeared on sale on eBay purporting to be EFE model 31513 (which was a commissioned model by Tower Transit). Given that genuine models have been changing hands on eBay for up to £300 it appears that somebody has been tempted to cash in by producing their own fake version of the model. I sent the photographs to EFE who replied "There are many things wrong with the model including the fact that it is on the old casting and not in the bespoke box that Tower Transit commissioned". Please careful if you are looking to by one of the models and only buy from a trusted source. Fake model: ERRORS ON EFE RELEASE
SHEET ISSUE 2 2015 Unfortunately the release sheet has now been sent out and it is not possible to correct the printed version. EFE have sent me an amended .PDF of the release sheet but at 8.00mb it unfortunately too large to publish. Thursday 12th March 2015 |

NEW
JOTUS.COM COMMISSIONED MODEL FOR THE LONDON BUS MUSEUM The London Bus Museum have announced another Jotus.com model to be available at the Spring Gathering on 19th April which will be "Aviation Themed". I have copied the Museum's press release below: "The London Bus Museum has further exciting news for model bus collectors. To coincide with the London Bus Museum’s “Aviation Themed” Spring Gathering, on the 19th April, we are pleased to announce another fine Limited Edition Jotus model. This time it is an example of the BEA 4RF4 one and a half deck AEC Regal 1V,Park Royal bodied coach which were operated by London Transport on behalf of BEA. Our OO gauge (1:76) scale model showing Athens as the destination, depicts NLP650 which was the last coach built out of a batch totalling 65 vehicles and carries the classic grey and white livery worn when they first entered service in 1952.The model is of superb quality and finely detailed – even the seat moquette, interior promotional adverts and coat hooks are reproduced. Limited to just 200 pieces the model will be for sale around £75. LBM are pleased to be continuing the relationship with Jotus and some very unique models are in the planning stage. The first of these, a pre war London Transport double deck bus, is in the early stage of development, and if everything goes to plan may be available in the Autumn. We realise that not every collector will be able to attend the event so one can be ordered from the shop at www.lbmshop.com or contact manager@lbmshop.com" NEW MODELS ANNOUNCED BY
