MASTER NORTHCORD - PRESS RELEASE HKBUS2007 : the Green Bus Tri-axle Leyland Olympian / Alexander Coach Creative Master Northcord Limited is proud to release the Green Bus livery on its well-known 11-metre, tri-axle Leyland Olympian / Alexander R-type coach model. The model represents Stagecoach in Warwickshire 13650 (H627 LNA) in the Green Bus livery that formerly operated with Citybus in Hong Kong as its 160 (ET 1190). Although most of the former Citybus 11m coaches have served on the Megabus network, the arrival of new Neoplan coaches rendered some Olympians surplus to the requirements of the Megabus fleet, and toilets were not needed on these. 13650 initially served in Manchester on MagicBus routes before being transferred to Stagecoach in Warwickshire. 13650 is one of four that entered service on the Green Bus routes. The Green Transport Company runs bus services to schools in the UK using its Dutch-designed “The Green Bus” brand. Four ex-Hong Kong megadeckers are operated by Stagecoach in Warwickshire on behalf of The Green Transport Company, and are based at Leamington depot. Each carrying 94 passengers, the coach-seated, air-conditioned megadeckers have become popular with pupils. They operate throughout Birmingham and the West Midlands on services to and from King Edward VI Five Ways School, and are available for private hire. As on the previous successful HKBUS2000 series models produced by CMNL, HKBUS2007 has many innovative designs on the tooling, some of which were seen for the first time on a CMNL double-deck model. The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out, including all handrails on board and detailed, individual air-vents above the seats. Of note is the improved upper-deck ceiling detail that features the correct colours of the prototype coach. The most remarkable accuracy is seen on the front dome that represents this feature of the Alexander R type bodywork. Once again, this is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application. The model has no ugly metal poles to hold it together. The HKBUS2007 model is limited to 1800 pieces worldwide. They will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) and Porte Publishing Company (Japan).

RELEASE FROM CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD LTD UKBUS4007 Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian Lothian Buses X50 Service Following the significant success in launching the new casting of the Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian model in the livery of Lothian Buses in 2005, Creative Master Northcord Limited is releasing the seventh livery on this casting – UKBUS4007 in Lothian Buses’ Britannia advert branding for its X50 Service. UKBUS4007 represents Lothian Buses fleet number 433 (P433 KSX). The replica has an eye-catching wholly-wrapped advertisement of the Royal Yacht Britannia and advertises the service “TO & FROM ROYAL YACHT BRITANNIA”. Lothian Buses received 3 single-door Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympians in late 1996 and these were painted in the, then, private hire / airport livery. In 2000, fleet number 433 was painted in this livery to advertise the special route X50 that ran from Waverley Bridge to Britannia. Route X50 was replaced with the MacTours Britannia (now Majestic) sightseeing tour, and 433 was transferred to normal service, but continued to carry Britannia livery until 2004, when it was repainted into Lothian Buses’ standard madder and white colours. The Royal Yacht Britannia is one of the world’s most famous ships. Launched at John Brown’s Shipyard in Clydebank in 1953, Britannia served Queen and country for forty years in the course of royal duty and generated excitement and admiration wherever it went in the world. The ship is now owned by The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust, a charitable organization whose sole remit is the maintenance of Britannia in keeping with her former role. Britannia is now permanently berthed in Edinburgh’s historic port of Leith where she is open to the public as a five star visitor attraction and unique corporate events venue. UKBUS4007 has a brand new combination for the UKBUS4000 series casting, with single door, middle staircase and square-cornered, gasket windows, as well as a brand new seating layout in the lower deck to the Lothian Buses style. The front dash panel of UKBUS4007 has been modified where parts of the “nostrils” above the main radiator grille intake have been filled in to create the unique Lothian Buses slipboard that is often used to enhance the, already significant, route information further for the public. In this instance, the word ‘Britannia’ is carried, and this continues to this day on the Wright single decks that operate route 22 to Ocean Terminal. UKBUS4007 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the UKBUS4007 model is its extensive handrails on both upper deck and lower deck. It is one of the significant achievements on this new casting. The rectangular headlight and indicator units at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic. The brand new single-door Alexander Royale Volvo Olympian double-deck bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS4007 model is limited to 2000 pieces worldwide.

CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD LTD PRESS
RELEASES UKBUS5006 Mercedes-Benz Citaro Bus Eireann The Mercedes-Benz Citaro itself seems to have an international face. People could see them running on the streets in the UK as well as the streets of Ireland. More and more Citaros are serving in mainland European countries too. Creative Master Northcord Limited is proud to release another Citaro replica. It is UKBUS5006 Mercedes-Benz Citaro model in Bus Eireann livery. Bus Eireann – Ireland’s national bus company – operates city bus services in Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford as well as Expressway long-distance coach services, commuter services in the hinterland of the cities, local bus services in rural areas, Eurolines coach services linking Ireland and Britain and a nationwide school transport network. The Mercedes-Benz Citaro model 0530 (overall length 11.95m) is one of 20 similar vehicles placed in service during 2000. Of the total fleet of 20 vehicles, 12 are allocated to Limerick City Services and the remaining 8 are allocated to Galway City Services. UKBUS5006 shows the vehicle, MC4 (00 D 83630), in service on route 305 bound for Coonagh Roundabout. Route 305 is a cross-city route linking Lynwood Park on the east of the city with Coonagh on the west side, running through the city centre and crossing the River Shannon. The main feature of UKBUS5006 is the new radiator and engine room design which is seen for the first time on the casting. The grille on the offside represents the early type of Citaro design, which is the difference from those Citaros produced to date by CMNL. The position of the emergency door on the offside is also a new item on UKBUS5006. The Mercedes-Benz Citaro UKBUS5006 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, double-glazed windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering of both Irish and English are clearly legible. Another feature on the UKBUS5006 model is its extensive portrayal of handrails. The headlight / indicator units at the front and indicator / tail light units at the rear are made of individual components to look more realistic. The brand new single-door Mercedes-Benz Citaro bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS5005 model is limited to 1800 pieces worldwide.

CORGI OOC PRESS RELEASE Jump on board the Corgi history tour! Corgi is ‘bussing’ back to its beginnings with a commemorative box set, ‘A Route Through Time’, featuring double deckers representing its key locations during the past 50 years. Commissioned as part of Corgi’s anniversary celebrations, it features three highly detailed bus models associated with the company’s early days in St. James in Northampton, its move to Swansea and finally its current base in Leicester. This latest addition to the Original Omnibus Company range also comes complete with specially designed 50th anniversary packaging including photography of Corgi’s three offices. Due for release in May, only 1000 sets will be available at an RRP £69.99. Jill Davey, Marketing Manager Collectables, said: “Each of these three buses represents a slice of Corgi history. Both the Northampton Corporation and the United Welsh buses used to actually run past Corgi’s previous offices in Northampton and Swansea respectively, while the First Leicester bus we’ve chosen runs near our current site.” ‘A
Route Through Time’ (OM99186) includes: 246 (BNH 246C) entered service in March 1965 and has the rare distinction of being the first Northampton bus to be fitted with saloon heaters. It was one of 58 Roe-bodied Daimler CVG6s delivered to the fleet which had the Manchester-style concealed radiator. 246 was in service for sixteen years before being withdrawn in October 1981 and is happily now preserved. A
Bristol Lodekka FS – United Welsh WCY 712 entered service in 1961 and ran on a variety of routes in and around the Swansea and Gower areas. Wright

MASTER NORTHCORD LTD - PRESS RELEASE UKBUS4005 Alexander Royale bodied Volvo Olympian First Leeds There is no doubt that the Olympian was the most successful classic British double-decker in the last two decades. London was a significant market for those step-entrance double-deckers although they have now given way to low-floor buses running on all TfL contracts in the capital. Among those operators who placed purchasing orders for the last batches of brand new Olympians was First, who had developed an individual specification for Group purchases. The First Group specification included heavy and well padded seats, with additional legroom, split-level entrance steps and a rear profile that had no glazed windows to allow for the application of Mega-Rear adverts. First placed a total of 158 Alexander ‘Royale’-bodied Volvo Olympians into service from 1997-1999 to this Group specification, although the earliest deliveries were in the liveries of the individual operating companies, Greater Glasgow and Leeds CityLink, before giving way to ‘Barbie’ colours. The Royale-bodied Olympians were allocated to Glasgow, Central Scotland, Edinburgh, Manchester and West Yorkshire. Creative Master Northcord Limited is again making the above come true in its replica, UKBUS4005, the Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian in First livery, complete with its First Group specification. This is the first livery to feature such a layout on the well known Alexander Royale single door casting. UKBUS4005 represents fleet number 30786 (R606 JUB) which was the first of the type to be allocated to Leeds and was originally painted in Leeds City Link livery, but gained its current livery within a short time. The model is depicted on service 33 bound for Menston. UKBUS4005 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the UKBUS4005 model is the ‘split-level’ entrance step which is shown for the first time on the casting – this feature is replicated not only on the outside bodywork, but the internal floor casting has been developed to show this feature correctly. It is one of the significant achievements on this new casting. Again, it has extensive handrails on both upper deck and lower deck. The headlight and indicator units at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic. The brand new single-door Alexander Royale Volvo Olympian double-deck bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS4005 model is limited to 1700 pieces worldwide.

NEWS The day was generally pleasant with a very strong breeze and sunny intervals during the morning. However, early afternoon some heavy showers/downpours soon developed but thankfully my wife and I were either in the Museum at the time or on the shuttle service back to the airfield so did not get too wet. On returning to the airfield some very soggy traders were observed and I had to rescue my car from a large pool of water approx 4 inches deep were the car park had flooded! THREE
