BRITBUS
ALDERSHOT AND DISTRICT MODELS Further to my news article of 13 March, I have received additional information from Britbus which clarifies the details I published: "DL-03 will be a standard Britbus issue model - It will be in green A&D livery and will feature adverts. The specific details are not yet finalised so I cant tell you more than that at this time- It will be a production run of 1008 pcs at this moment. DL-002 is a commissioned model- Jointly commissioned by the ADBIG preservation group and the London area of the MBF. This is termed the Anniversary model. This model will have its own special banners proclaiming the 100 years anniversary." The following has also been received today from the Aldershot and District Bus Interest Group regarding the commissioned model: "This model is a commission model to celebrate 100 years of the Aldershot & Farnborough Motor Bus Company, later to become the Aldershot & District Traction Co Ltd. The occasion is being marked by a huge event involving the Aldershot & District Bus Interest Group, who will be running vintage services with vintage Aldershot & District buses, and with Stagecoach South who will be highly involved and will have their Aldershot Depot open to the public. The models we have ordered will be on sale to the public at the event for £30. The number is limited to ONLY 408 thus a very limited edition. The model can only be obtained from ADBIG, and we are currently taking orders at £30 post free. Details of how to order on our website - www.adbig.co.uk The final artwork is not complete as yet, but I can tell you the number is 458 EOT and will be in A & D Colours. Each side will depict 100 years and the front destination will be a 'special' 1906 blind". Tuesday 21 March 2006 |

COBHAM
2006 SHOW MODELS The London Bus Preservation Trust web site gives details of the two models commissioned for the show together with purchasing arrangements for those attending the show and also those unable to attend the show as follows: "This year the Trust has requested EFE to produce two fund raising models to be available on 2nd April 2006. The 2006 Cobham Special will be a Daimler Fleetline in the splendid 1933 style General livery on Cobham route 499. In contrast, the second model will appeal to the 'Half-Cab' fans. TD 153 will be in Country livery heading for West Croydon during the Whitsun Bank holiday in 1935, dressed with unique adverts for Motor Racing at Brooklands. Please note: there will be no facility for the trade, members or non-members to 'Reserve' models prior to Open Day. The Open Day models will be on sale in the Marquee at the Wisley Airfield site only. Priority to purchase models will be given to the members and visitors attending the annual Open Day at Wisley Airfield on Sunday 2 April 2006. Purchases will be restricted to a maximum of two of each model per person. Special arrangements are in hand for volunteer members who, being engaged in Open Day duties, cannot access the Cobham Marquee at Wisley. For
folk who can't attend, please send a prepaid stamped addressed envelope
together with a note of your membership number, if applicable, and details
of which models you hope to purchase, to: If, after the Open Day, models are still available, an order form will be sent out in the prepaid envelope. If, after the Open Day, models aren't available, a letter of condolence will be sent instead. Special attention will be given to infirm or disabled members who are unable to attend. Members will take priority over non-members for all 'prepaid envelopes' received prior to Open Day. Thereafter, all orders will be on a first come first served basis." Sunday 19 March 2006 |

CREATIVE
MASTER NORTHCORD LTD PRESS RELEASE TransBus Mini Pointer Dart UKBUS3021 Stagecoach Manchester Creative Master Northcord Limited has proudly released a brand new bus replica representing one of the most important acquisitions in the UK bus trades in 2005. It is UKBUS3021 Stagecoach Manchester MPD, a TransBus Mini Pointer Dart. Of the major UK bus groups, Stagecoach was the one surging ahead on the acquisition trail in 2005. Stagecoach bought Dennis’s of Dukinfield on 1st April 2005. All Dennis’s buses (all, appropriately, Dennises) were quickly subsumed into Stagecoach Manchester. It is quite interesting to see the liveries on the buses had been changed soon after the acquisition. It adds importance to the models that the model itself is telling a significant story. UKBUS3021 carries Stagecoach Manchester fleet number 33098 (MX04 AXN). The bus originally entered service with Dennis’s Coaches of Dukinfield in June 2004 and was the only TransBus MPD in the fleet. When the company ceased its bus business to Stagecoach the bus transferred to the Stagecoach Manchester operation. On UKBUS3021 the clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, gasket windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on each model is the extensive portrayal of handrails. The headlight / indicator units at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic. The brand new UKBUS3021 TransBus Mini Pointer Dart models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS3021 model is limited to 1400 pieces worldwide.

2ND SUBSCRIBER MAILING 2006 My copy of the 2nd EFE mailing of 2006 arrived today and carries an article regarding the 1/24th scale DMS which I thought would be of interest: "As previously mentioned each successive release, 99102 onwards, will feature a new garage, new vehicle and the associated routes worked from that garage and these will be in smaller quantities probably 300 pieces each. 99102 will feature Norbiton Garage and routes 131 Wdays, 131 Sun, 213, 213A and 285. To be followed by garages like Barking, Catford, Holloway, Croydon, Walthamstow and more, so without having to wait too long you are very likely to see a model featuring your favourite routes". Also included in the mailing was a flyer for the new "Routemaster Series" CLICK HERE to view. Please note this is a large file and may take some time to download. Thursday 9 March 2006 |
