Showbus Report 2003 |
As mentioned on Sunday evening, the weather was the customary occasional showers and the temperature was about 18 degrees with a light breeze. The rain did not appear to spoil the day for the visitors although it always amazes me how some dealers can set up a stall for Showbus without overhead protection! As a result I did see some very wet stock on some stalls. I was able to meet a number of people during the day to say hello, it is always good to be able to put a face to names. EFE announced their new casting as an AEC regal 10T10 which they hope to release at the end of the year. They also had two new models on display that had not been previously announced. These models are a Wright Volvo Renown Keighley and District and a Leyland Olympian in Wilts & Dorset livery. Pictures of these models are shown below. I received a few requests to report on any new goods vehicles. Unfortunately there were none although there was a rumour that we will see something new early next year. No details however are known. Britbus had 6
new models on display in pre-production form these are: Guy Arab MKIV Again photographs are shown below. They also released a set of four Showbus models (two Guy Arab IV and two Metropolitans) I hope to bring photographs of these later in the week. The photographs were all taken in macro mode on the camera using the natural light and in the case of two of the EFE through glass. Unfortunately these are not as clear as I would have hoped. To compound my difficulties all pictures were taken with the camera being hand held and you would not believe how much the wooden flooring and the cabinets in the marquee bounced as people walked by! Hopefully you will be pleased with the results. Click on the small images below to view a higher resolution photograph.
