News_Showbus Report 2014

Firstly the usual weather report. It remained dry throughout with broken cloud which most of the time was ideal for photography, the temperature was about 18 degrees. This year there were no Showbus models either especially for the event or as prizes for the buses.

Yardley Wood Bus Club had a mock up of a Forward Models model in Salford City livery on display on their stall. I have emailed Forward Models but have not received a reply in response to my request for more details. I came across an EFE Bristol Lodekka in Eastern National livery with no destination blinds or registration numbers. The Routemaster Association had two models on sale that were produced for the RM60 event at Finsbury park in July. One was a code 3 Routemaster based on EFE model 31907 and limited to 60 pieces. The second model they had on sale was an Oxford Diecast Routemaster in London Transport livery with the same blinds, adverts etc as the EFE model. The Routemaster Association have advised that this model is a Code 2.

	My unusual find EFE Bristol Lodekka - Eastern National I came across this model on a stall which appears to be the base model for EFE model 14002, 14002A &14002DL. I can see no evidence of adverts, blinds etc being removed from it. The model is rather dusty which can be seen in the photographs so I will dust it off and take a few more photographs of it. I don't know whether it is an undecorated base model that has found its way into the system or whether it has been cleaned down but it is something different in the collection Photograph © British Model Buses
