CR47 Press Release

The London Bus Museum are pleased to announce their latest Jotus model release which will be available at the Transportfest Event at Cobham Hall, Brooklands on the 19th October 2014. Following on from the success of the green London Transport Leyland CR, which was launched at the Spring Gathering and sold out very quickly, the Museum have commissioned a red Central Area version, CR47 working on route 213 to the LT garage at Sutton. This model is limited to just 260 pieces and will retail at £70. For those enthusiasts that cannot attend the event , any unsold models will be available from the on line shop www.lbmshop.com or in case of difficulty by contacting Richard Jones at the LBM e mail : manager@lbmshop.com

The Museum shop has also purchased the remaining stock of the Jotus FRM1 “RM60 “ model launched at the Routemaster Associations 60th Anniversary Event at Finsbury Park in July. These are available at www.lbmshop.com priced at £65.00 plus post and packing.

The Routemaster Association have asked me to advise that they still have small quantities of the two models they commissioned for RM60:

For the RM60 event in July the Routemaster Association commissioned a Routemaster bus model from Oxford Diecast. They have around 10 models left at £13 each plus £3-20 postage showing RM60 adverts.

They also have a few EFE models commissioned at the same time of RML884 (the model I purchased yesterday) with the same RM60 adverts etc. Again they have a few left at £30 each plus £3-20 postage. Only 60 of these models were produced.

Yardley Wood Bus Club had a pre-production sample of a Forward Models model in Salford City livery. I came a cross an EFE Bristol Lodekka in Eastern National livery with completely blank blinds & registration number and the Routemaster Association had a code 3 Routemaster on sale that was limited to 60 pieces for the RM 60 event.

I hope to publish photographs of the 3 models mentioned above later this evening and will publish some other photographs from the Show during the week.

8.00pm update - I have just viewed the photographs I took of the Salford model and will make some enquiries before I give further details. I will publish photographs of the other two models later this evening.

EFE New Releases Issue 7 2014 sheet shows the above model with the destination of "Coggleshall" I spoke with EFE today and they advised it is a typing error on their sheet and the model will display the correct destination of "Coggeshall"

I will be attending the Show at Duxford this year. I understand that this year there will be no Show special models released.

"The production capacity of our models in China has started to improve as our manufacturers have begun to adjust to working with fewer staff. Recently I referred to 34207 the Midland General RLH bus well it is finally on the water and will be released in October, 12 months after it was ordered. Inevitably I am now being asked to make a model of a Bristol VRT in Midland General livery to accompany it and I think this would be a good idea.

We have at last been able to get some new tooling underway, the first of which involves our Atkinson and Foden trucks and this tooling will enable us to feature a wider range of fleet liveries. Because the Foden truck company were continuously making slight changes to the design detail on their cabs it gave us a problem which prevented us from featuring good fleet liveries that we wanted to model. Making these changes to the Atkinson and Foden cab tooling will remove these limitations and open up new liveries for us to model."

No new models are announced in this newsletter.

EFE MODEL BEING RELEASED IN BACHMANN GIFT SET
Bachmann have announced a train pack, stock code 30-525 called "The Shakespeare Express" the information states that this pack will contain in addition to the train, carriages etc a Stratford-Upon-Avon Open top bus. I understand that this model will be an EFE model and hope to publish more details later this week.
