ATLAS EDITIONS MODELS FOR SALE
I have been contacted by a number of people since Atlas Editions launched their British Bus range asking how they could buy individual models as they did not want to collect the whole series. Previously I have referred them to Atlas Customer Services to see if they can help. A recent email from a visitor to the site who contacted Atlas advised me that they could only get the individual models they wanted by collecting the whole series e.g. if they wanted model 10 they would have to start from the beginning and receive the previous 9 first before they got the model they wanted.

I have been purchasing the models to enable me to photograph them and maintain the records on the site even though many of them are outside my area of interest. If it would help any of you fill gaps in your collections I would be happy to sell the models that are outside my area of interest at the cost I paid Atlas for the model i.e. £17.98 plus a charge of £2.25 postage (UK) per model, overseas at cost. I will discount postage at cost if more than one model purchased. Total cost per model = £20.23 (UK).

All models are the ones photographed on my site. The problems with packaging, I have well documented and most boxes have marks on them but are in the condition I received them from Atlas. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Models for sale are:
ATLAS003 Bedford OB - Wallace Arnold (Actual model for sale is the one shown in photograph)
ATLAS005 Q1 Trolleybus - London Transport (Actual model for sale is the one shown in photograph)
ATLAS007 AEC Q - Cardiff (Actual model for sale is the one shown in photograph)
ATLAS009 Bristol K - Western National (Actual model for sale is the one shown in photograph)
ATLAS011 Daimler CWA6 - Douglas Corporation Transport (Actual model for sale is the one shown in photograph)
ATLAS012 BMMO CM5T - Midland Red (Motorway Coach) (Actual model for sale is the one shown in photograph)
ATLAS016 Leyland Tiger - Western Welsh (Actual model for sale is the one shown in photograph)

ATLAS017 MCW Orion - Lytham St Annes (Actual model for sale is the one shown in photograph)

I have additionally got two models which were replaced by Atlas which have defects on the paintwork, these are priced at £7.75 plus £2.25 P&P:
ATLAS017 MCW Orion - Lytham St Annes (Actual model for sale is the one shown in photograph)
ATLAS006 East Lancs Daimler -  Bradford City Transport (Actual model for sale is the one shown in photograph)

All the above are one off items, first come first served. Please email first CLICK HERE to email me and reserve your model.

JOTUS FRM1
You will recall last week (15th September) I published photographs of the "production version" of their first standard release FRM on route 76. After comparing these photographs against the Showbus version of the FRM, I contacted Jotus regarding the quality difference between the two models. It appears that following Showbus other people also contacted Jotus with comments. I have received a reply from Jotus this
afternoon:

"After our consideration and the discussion with the factory, we decided to do the following modification.
1)      destination will be changed from Moorgate to Victoria
2)      will try to change the colour of the band from cream to light grey
3)      the colour of the wheels will be changed to dark red with silver cap at the middle.
4)
the surround of the indicator will be changed to black colour."

Jotus have promised to send me photographs of the model once amendments have been made.

I was in the TTC Diecast tent at the end of the afternoon and Chris advised me that he had approx 30 of the Show FRM models remaining and a very small number (approx 6) of the Code 3 CMNL Citaro based on UKBUS5017. If you would like to purchase any of these models please contact TTC Diecast as soon as possible (contact details on their website).

SUNBUS REPORT
I returned a short while ago from Showbus having had a brilliant day. Starting with the customary weather report, it was sunny till just after midday when it clouded over. A very light shower lasting a matter of seconds about 4.15 and a temperature of about 18 degrees.

In the TTC Diecast tent the new castings were unveiled. Preproduction samples of three of them were on display together with pre-production samples of the Corgi OOC 2011-2012 releases, the Britbus driver trainer and one of the Duple Dominants from BT Models. The tent was extremely busy all day with Chris admitting to being shattered by the time the last customer had left.

Two show models were on sale. FRM1 London Transport with Showbus advertising and also a Code 3 based on CMNL model UKBUS5017 with additional advertising and limited to just 50 pieces. The winners of the various bus class competitions received a similar model with additional advertising of the rear engine cover for John Ayrey Diecast.

The new castings are as follows:

Optare Olympus (twin and single door)
Optare Solo SR
Optare Spectra London (twin door)
Optare Spectra
Optare Versa - First livery Route X38 Derby (can be pre-ordered now)
Optare Versa Hybrid (twin door)
Marshall Bodied Dart - First liveries Brighton and Hove and  Stagecoach Cheltenham (can be pre-ordered now)
Volvo Ailsa V3 London Northern (single door)

Photographs of the above and more details to follow shortly.

SHOWBUS - NEWS OF NEW MODEL
Many thanks to Peter Rigarlsford for sending me a copy of a page from the Bus & Coach Buyer programme for Showbus on Sunday. TTC Diecast have a page explaining their involvement with Showbus. Included is a couple of paragraphs regarding their new models. I felt the below would be of particular interest.

ARRIVA OPTARE VERSA, PRE PRODUCTION HERE TODAY
"With samples produced in both die cast and resin, we decided that the highly detailed resin models were without compromise the greatest model buses we had ever seen, and with that, and the option of tooling very small runs, took the decision to work with this material going forward. With two well known resin manufacturers on board, and a pending license from Optare, we have moved on at lightning speed to be able to offer up to EIGHT NEW CASTINGS, yes castings, not liveries, at Showbus today. No other model bus manufacturer has been able to offer that, and show finished samples, and promise more to come next year? – none as long as I remember!! Please come and visit us in our marquees, (look out for the Versas!!) I am sure you will be surprised by the level of detail in our models".

ATLAS EDITIONS
Some of you may have noticed that last evening I incorrectly described Atlas model 021 as a Trolleybus. I have now re-titled it correctly as a Leyland Titan PD2 Roe. You will notice that Atlas have incorrectly titled the design cell and I copied it.

Atlas model 013 is now overdue and should have been released some time ago. I understand that it has been delayed by technical difficulties and I will update you once I hear more.

NEWS FROM TTC DIECAST
Chris at TTC Diecast advised me last evening that Corgi have confirmed they will be sending
all of their 2011-12 range to him for him to "showcase it to the public at Showbus"

I have received a number of emails from people who are not collecting the Atlas Editions models but have seen the odd one that interests them. My understanding is that to purchase any of the buses you have to collect the whole lot, you cannot just purchase the odd individual model. It may be a phone call to Atlas to ask but I would not be hopeful. If anyone does phone and is successful in just purchasing one model please let me know.

EFE 7TH SUBSCRIBER NEWSLETTER 2011
The latest EFE Subscriber Newsletter arrived this morning and has a number of items of interest:

Tooling Update
With the mould tooling underway, the next new shots we are waiting to receive are those for the Alexander Y type bus with alternative entrance door style and bus seats. The multi windowed version of the Y type and Bristol RE coach version will follow as this more difficult tooling change is completed. We are waiting to see first shots of the Bristol VRI and flat fronted VRII which should be available in two weeks time. Hopefully we will have images of the VRI shots to show you in the next mailing.

Production of the Single Deck Routemaster has slipped and it looks like they will dock at the end of October, which is very frustrating for us all.

New models
13917 Bristol FLF Lodekka FIFE SCOTTISH
15110 Leyland National MKI long SELNEC RT.E.
16227 Bristol MW/LS ROYAL BLUE SOUTHERN NATIONAL
17227 Leyland National MKI long HANTS & DORSET

29627 Leyland Olympian B DEVON GENERAL

Subscriber Only Special Models
As mentioned in the last mailing we are preparing two special models for release only to our subscribers. These models feature liveries of restricted general interest hence the low volume being produced. The first, 18614 is a Bristol VRIII open top bus in Cornish Fairways N.B.C. livery. Fleet number 943 named Ark Royal and registered VDV 143S is working route 569 to Pendennis Point.

The second, 3051 2A is a GS Guy Special in NostalgiaBus livery fleet number 7 registered MXX 367 on route 416 to Polesden Lacey.

Order forms and images of these two models will be in the next mailing, which will be sent to you at the end of September.

98004 1/24 Scale Metrobus in Metroline Livery
Some of you may be aware that a special version of our 1/24 scale Metrobus model was made for Metroline which featured a bus from their Willesden garage operating on routes 6 to Aldwich, 52 to Victoria, 266 to Hammersmith and 302 to Notting Hill Gate. These models have never been made available to the general public and of the small number made there are just 12 left that we can offer to our subscribers. If you are interested in one of these then please contact our sales office on 020 8344 6720. - PLEASE NOTE only EFE Subscribers can apply - Gareth

Finally Mr Joyce reminds Subscribers “Please remember we are no longer sponsoring Showbus so we will not be attending the Rally and there will be No EFE Display Marquee this year”.

ATLAS EDITIONS GERMANY RELEASE UK LONDON TRANSPORT RTW
Many thanks to David Cole for sending the below text and photograph. I have copied David's email in full:

"My friend Manfred Graeser in Leipzig, Germany has just sent me the attached picture of the latest release in the German Atlas collection - RTW75 on route 25. I am assuming they have used the OOC casting for this although the level of detail is much higher than the UK Atlas release, however the German range is supposed to be a constant 1:72 scale...... I will measure it when I pick it up from Leipzig at the end of September. Unlike most OOC/Atlas RTWs, the division between upper and lower deck is not noticeable.

This is the first UK release in the series and was not shown on any of the flyers put out by Atlas (these showed an OB and an FS!)"

PRESS RELEASE FROM CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD LTD
The following press release has been received this morning from CMNL:

UKBUS1049 Alexander Dennis ALX400-bodied Trident

Stagecoach Manchester – Magic Bus

CMNL is proud to release another brand new livery on its well-known casting – the Alexander Dennis ALX400-bodied Trident. This is UKBUS1049 carrying Magic Bus livery.

This model features Stagecoach Manchester 17647 (W647 RND) in Magic Bus livery.

“LOW FARES” and “GREAT VALUE” were the slogans of the Magic Bus services operated by Stagecoach. UKBUS1049 is the second Magic Bus model produced by CMNL. The first one is hkbus 2006, a 11-metre tri-axle Leyland Olympian / Alexander R-type coach model, produced in November 2005.

Having operated in service with Stagecoach Manchester for many years, 17647 was repainted to Magic Bus colours in early 2010 representing the Magic Bus service entering into a new achievement by using all low-floor buses in the city.

The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model has no unnecessary metal poles to hold it together.

The brand new UKBUS1049 model is based on a Limited Edition of 804 pieces produced. They will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), cnmycar.com (P.R. China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.
