RELEASE FROM ATLAS EDITIONS I have received a report that the next model in the series has been released although mine has not arrived, I am also still waiting for my replacement Trolleybus to arrive which was badly damaged by the Post Office (left outside for 2 weeks whilst I was on holiday and suffered severe water damage from heavy rain). SHOWBUS
"RAINBUS" REPORT Unfortunately after 3 years of good weather today was Rainbus and it was quite cool and breezy at 12/13 degrees. It did not stop me having a great time and I did get a little wet despite having purchased a Citybus Hong Kong umbrella brand new for £1.00 which I then put it in the car and did not have it with me when some heavy rain arrived! Fortunately during a couple of heavy downpours I was able to go into two of the Museum hangers and have a good look around including a nice cup of hot chocolate in the American Air Museum display hanger. There were loads of new models on display and at the end of the day I was able to get them all out of the Display cabinets and photograph them on one of the tables. I hope to publish all the photographs I took tomorrow morning. For me the highlight of the new models were the prototype RMC CRL4 and the "red single deck that very few will be expecting" turned out to be something totally different, Chiswick Works RM1368 which was cut down from a double deck Routemaster following a fire and used as a single deck works vehicle to release RM8 back into service. I have included photographs of both below but will be publishing more photographs of them and more news tomorrow morning. SHOWBUS A reminder that Showbus takes place at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford this Sunday. I spoke with EFE this morning who advised me that there will be lots of new models including a "red single deck that very few will be expecting" any ideas? I cant wait for the tent to open on Sunday morning. Friday 24 September 2010 |

BREACH
OF COPYRIGHT I thought you may be interested to hear that following a tip off from a visitor to my site I have this evening lodged a formal compliant against an eBay trader for breach of the copyright on my website for using 45 photographs from this site without my prior consent on his sale listings. The seller compounded the breach by cropping my copyright notice from each of the photographs. Prior to lodging the formal compliant I emailed the seller pointing out the breach and asked that the photographs be removed within 24 hours. He failed to respond to my email and failed to remove the photographs as requested. EBay have advised that they will be investigating the matter which they regarded as a serious breach of copyright and totally contrary to their rules and regulations for sellers. A limited number of people have asked permission to use my photographs on eBay or elsewhere and acknowledge my copyright somewhere in their listing, I generally have no objection to this but do object where my consent is not sought in advance. If anyone comes across instances of my photographs being used on eBay or elsewhere I would appreciate a quick email giving me the eBay listing number or website address so I can follow it up. PRESS
RELEASE FROM COBHAM BUS MUSEUM The following press release has been received from Cobham Bus Museum: "Goodbye Redhill Road" event - the final farewell Sunday 31st October 2010, 10.00-1700 Just before the doors finally close at Redhill Road, a special event has been organised, which will contain the following programme: Static vehicle displays at Cobham Bus Museum and at Cobham and Stoke d'Abernon station car park. Bus services from Weybridge station to the Museum and special bus rides on other routes. Special "Goodbye Redhill Road" commemorative programme and timetables, which will include a series of articles recalling the history of the Museum and memories of events over the last 38 years A good selection of sales stalls in the Museum building Refreshments at both display sites Special commemorative EFE model of Green Line RMC on route 720A on sale in the Cobham shop Photo opportunity for visiting vehicles in the main yard (pre-booking required. Free entry for Cobham members, £7 for non members, including brochure Please note that we shall not be able to offer trips to the Brooklands site on this occasion. We invite owners who have brought buses to Cobham over the years to bring and display/run their vehicles in service. Come along to the last ever display event at Cobham London Bus Museum – it will be a day full of memories and nostalgia. For further information email: events@lbpt.org, or visit our website: www.lbpt.org Goodbye Redhill Road EFE Model Our very last display event, “Goodbye Redhill Road”, will be held on the 31st October 2010 and to commemorate this important and unique day, prior to our move to Brooklands, we’ve commissioned a special limited edition EFE model, which depicts Green Line RMC 1491, operating from Epping Garage (EP) on Route 720A, destination LONDON ALDGATE. Route 720A was introduced on the 30th June 1954 to supplement the main 720 service between Harlow New Town and Aldgate and was initially RF operated. The increasing populations of the new towns facilitated an upgrade to double deck vehicles with brand new RMC’s entering service on the 720A from Epping Garage on the 24th October 1962. The RMC’s stint on the 720A from Epping Garage was short lived however, as from the 22nd May 1963 the route was transferred to newly built Harlow (HA) Garage with Epping garage closing. Due to declining patronage across the network, the route was converted back to RF’s from the 4th November 1964 and from the 3rd October 1965 withdrawn completely being covered by a diversion of Route 720 between Potter St and Old Harlow to serve Harlow Town Centre. The model will be available exclusively from the Cobham Shop, on the 31st October 2010, priced at £27 to Members (please show your membership card) and £30 to non-Members. If there are any models in stock after the event, they will be made available at the usual enthusiasts events attended by the Cobham Shop, or alternatively by mail order, when P&P will be £3.50 for the first model and £2.50 for each additional model thereafter. To enquire about availability after the ‘Goodbye Redhill Road’ event on 31st October, please email: richard.jones290@btinternet.com, or visit www.lbpt.org To view a mock up of the model CLICK HERE 2nd posting Thursday 2 September 2010 |
