NEW MODELS
ANNOUNCED BY LONDON TRANSPORT MUSEUM The latest LT Subscriber Newsletter has arrived and carries some details of new models as follows: EFE AEC 10T10 Green Line I thought the below extracts from the Newsletter would be of interest: "We also have special advance news of three new EFE Routemasters produced to the instruction of Arriva and Transport for London to celebrate the final Routemasters in ordinary service on Route 159 on 9 December. There will be one RM type and two RML type models (all in Arriva colours). It is with regret that these cannot be offered to Standing Order customers, as they are entirely allocated for public sale at our sales stand which we hope will be at the (closed) Streatham Bus Garage. Full details of the location of the stand will be available on our website (www.ltmuseum.co.uk) towards the end of November. Due to the special nature of the event, full details of the models will only be available at the sales stand. Britbus We are particularly delighted to be offered the opportunity to help launch a new casting from Britbus. The Museum has commissioned a special version of the new Dennis Loline with Alexander low height body as supplied to Aldershot & District in 1962. It is represented in that operator's elegant two tone green and cream livery and is depicted on Route 1 which ran from Egham to Aldershot, thus establishing a London Transport connection. The livery style features the later simplified Aldershot & District fleet name used shortly before the takeover by Thames Valley to create Alder Valley at the beginning of the National Bus Company era. There are two variants for our customers. A Route 1 to Aldershot Vehicle 397 (397 COR) B Route 1 to Egham Vehicle 404 (404 COR) This model is expected in November 2005. The price will be £33.99 each. If both are ordered as a single transaction, we will offer two for £60.00" Saturday 29 October 2005 |

CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD - PRESS RELEASE Mercedes-Benz Citaro / Citaro G UKBUS5002 Oxford Park & Ride UKBUS5102 Stagecoach London Creative Master Northcord Limited has proudly released its second livery on the popular casting of the Mercedes-Benz Citaro and Citaro G respectively. UKBUS5002 carries Oxford Park & Ride colours. It represents fleet number 823 (MB52 OXF) of Oxford Bus Company. It is one of six Mercedes-Benz Citaros to enter service in December 2002, launching the Water Eaton Park & Ride, to the north of the city. This is the 5th Park & Ride facility in Oxford, the others also operated by Oxford Bus Company, but using Alexander bodied-Dennis Tridents. These buses were the first Citaros in the Oxford fleet and, following their success, were joined by 11 further vehicles a year later, these being to single door specification, and painted red. UKBUS5102 carries Stagecoach London colours. It represents fleet number 23059 (LX04 LBP). Stagecoach London number 23059, a Mercedes-Citaro articulated bus is one of 77 buses of this type operated by Stagecoach in London. Number 23059 was new in June 2004 and is based at Stagecoach London’s newest garage which is located in Waterden Road, Stratford. It operates exclusively on busy route 25 which provides a 24 hour service between Ilford and Oxford Circus. At peak times buses run every 5 minutes requiring a total of 42 buses. Both the Mercedes-Benz Citaro UKBUS5002 and Citaro G UKBUS5102 models’ clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, double-glazed windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on both models is the extensive portrayal of handrails. The headlight / indicator units at the front and indicator / tail light units at the rear are made of individual components to look more realistic. The brand new UKBUS5002 dual-door Mercedes-Benz Citaro and UKBUS5102 three-door Mercedes-Benz G bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD - PRESS RELEASE UKBUS3018 TransBus Mini Pointer Dart WightBus Further to the previous successful release of the Mini Pointer Dart replicas with other operators’ colours, CMNL is releasing another MPD model. This is UKBUS3018 carrying WightBus livery. Formed in 1996 from the Isle of Wight Council’s County Bus Service, WightBus has a fleet of 32 vehicles that operate a broad spectrum of work. The MPD featured is used predominantly for stage carriage work on sub-contracted routes 8, 24, 33 and 34. The UKBUS3018 WightBus MPD replica carries the registration number HW54 DBZ. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model also features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door, showing the detailed, environmentally friendly Euro 3 engine. All grab rails feature inside the replica and in their correct positions. The construction method of this replica permits realistic-looking front and rear lights – in particular the front headlamp / indicator assembly whose headlamp is transparent and indicator is translucent. The brand new UKBUS3018 WightBus MPD bus models are limited to 1100 pieces produced. It will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. UKBUS4004 Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian Travel West Midlands Following the significant success in launching the new casting of the Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian model in the liveries of Lothian Buses, Yorkshire Coastliner and Metroline respectively, Creative Master Northcord Limited is releasing the fourth livery – UKBUS4004 in Travel West Midlands’ “Private Charter” colours. UKBUS4004 has a brand new combination of the UKBUS4000 series casting, with single door, front staircase and bonded windows, as well as brand new chair lift poles at the entrance, new seats and luggage rack in the lower saloon and ventilation windows on the roof. UKBUS4004 represents fleet number 3125 (N125 YRW). 3125 was delivered new to London United as its A125 in the spring of 1996 for London Airbus services. National Express purchased the Airbus operation from London United in 1999 along with the 19 Olympians which operated it. These vehicles were unusual in having Air Conditioning, only 9 seats in the lower saloon, luggage racks and a wheelchair space & lift. Following the reduction of Airbus services 3 Olympians were transferred within the NX group to TWM, early in 2003, for the Private Charter Unit at Hockley where they had their seating capacity increased and were fitted with seatbelts. UKBUS4004 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the bonded windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The headlight and indicator units at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic. The brand new single-door Alexander Royale Volvo Olympian double-deck bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS4004 model is limited to 1800 pieces worldwide.

THERE WILL BE SAMPLES OF TWO BRAND NEW CASTINGS --the first of the new DL model as well as the new ES model. The DL will be a pre production sample of the very pleasing liveried DENNIS Loline III in Aldershot & District Traction Company colours. There will be three versions of this model initially- one of which has been commissioned by TfL ( DL-001A & 001B) with the later style of fleet-name and on route 1 to EGHAM…(A) and ALDERSHOT (B). The other model features the more ornate version of the fleet-name ( DL-01) and is on route 34 to GUILDFORD. THESE MODELS FEATURE::::::: poseable steering , Opening engine cover and handrails on the detailed interior seating……The chassis is also detailed and of course has a representation of the ubiquitous Gardner engine as fitted to these buses. The particular version modelled is one of the batch supplied to A & D by the former Walter Alexander & Sons of Falkirk who were the bus body builders and designers. AT THIS TIME THE FIRST of these MODELS IS DUE FOR RELEASE IN November 2005 !! The second new casting is perhaps an unexpected radical departure for BritbuS Ltd., and features the present day very prolific East Lancashire bodied Scania OMNIDEKKA. The first pre production sample of ES-01 will be on display at Acton and features none less than one of the original SCANIA demonstrator buses that has since been purchased by Yorkshire Traction. This single door model is very attractive in its original silver livery complete with the large Scania name and part of the Griffin logo. This model features the detailed engine, Opening engine cover and a highly detailed interior as is now becoming the accepted norm for BritbuS models. It also has poseable front wheels for those who like to place their models in attractive Diorama settings. It is expected that the model ( ES -01) will be available for sale by late November 2005. Not yet available but due soon is the new fully revised interior version of the Guy Arab III casting in the form of the GL-03. This bus is one of the former Southampton Corporation Guy Arab III’s that was purchased for further service by AA Motor Services, otherwise well known as Dodd’s of Troon. The MCW Metrorider will be seen in the livery of cream and maroon for Kentish Bus in London Transport service. This will be the third of the many anticipated liveries that will be featured on this casting in the coming months. Its Item Number is MRL-02. Further liveries on the recently introduced R 800 series Alexander bodied SCANIA 113 single door double deck will also be seen – Pre production samples will be seen for Stagecoach (East Kent) in the popular Stagecoach striped livery (R 802), the Boro Line (Maidstone) single example in its stark white livery ( R 803), the Borehamwood Travel Services orange and yellow livery as item Number R 804 and others. Recent releases will also be on display including the very latest release of R 902- Sovereign buses Olympian with Alexander two door body as running on the North West London 114 route in 2004. The fleet number is VA 17 which is still seen regularly on the same route but has now been repainted with a grey skirt. The R 902 BritbuS model features the earlier black skirted livery. The newest version of the AEC short Swift will feature the ex London Transport SMD class bus as sold to A1 Services (Docherty’s) –BritbuS item No AS2-05 is another model that will feature a Scottish livery for those collectors who avidly collect North of the Border models. BritbuS looks forward to catching up with friends and Collectors at this Acton London’s Transport Museum) open day.

CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD - PRESS RELEASE NEW CASTING UKBUS5101 Mercedes-Benz Citaro G Mercedes-Benz Demonstrator Creative Master Northcord Limited is pleased to announce the release of UKBUS5101, the first model of the articulated Mercedes-Benz Citaro new casting introduced during 2005. The first livery to be carried on the brand new model is the demonstrator livery for Mercedes-Benz. UKBUS5101 represents BU53 ZWV that was new in 2003. The model carries route details for TfL route 436 on which it operated for an extended period to replace the buses that were withdrawn from service. Uniquely amongst all Citaro G buses in operation on TfL routes, the demonstrator had dot matrix destination screens, rear registration plate location and the bodywork had only 2 passenger doors. Although this demonstrator also operated elsewhere in the country, it is best remembered for its part in the bendybus replacement programme during 2004. The Mercedes-Benz Citaro UKBUS5101 casting’s clean lines accentuate the square-mounted windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the UKBUS5101 model is its extensive portrayal of handrails. The headlight / indicator units at the front and indicator / tail light units at the rear are made of individual components to look more realistic. Another unique feature on UKBUS5101 is the flat floor throughout its entire length, even though there is a movable articulated unit on board. The model comes in a specially designed packaging. The model is securely attached by screws to the plastic plinth and is surrounded by a cardboard and soft plastic box that allows excellent views of the model within. The brand new, dual-door Mercedes-Benz Citaro demonstrator bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS5101 model is limited to only 1000 pieces worldwide. Creative Master Northcord Limited (CMNL) ------The World’s Miniature Bus Co.

RELEASE REGARDING ON-LINE RETAILER RYANBUS Yorkshire based OCTO MODELS announces the acquisition of major on-line model bus retailer RYANBUS.COM The directors of Octo Models Ltd, Alan Thompson and Nigel Park, were able to announce today that they have successfully acquired the long established and well respected Ryanbus on-line operation. Octo Models has been established in Yorkshire for only some 18 months, selling collectors model buses, cars, trucks and railway, but has now reached the point in its development where growing by acquisition is a realistic option. Co-director Alan Thompson says: “We have quickly established Octo Models as a serious player in the collectable models scene throughout Yorkshire and beyond through our retail unit in the Leeds Antique and Collectors Centre, our presence at many of the toy collectors fairs in the region and also throughout the world via our Internet operations. Ryanbus has the same philosophy as ourselves in giving good value for money and excellent service. WWW.RYANBUS.COM has been established on the web since 1998, and that makes it a real stayer in the on-line world! Our intention is to develop the site further and add additional product ranges, without changing the personal service and excellent value which Ryanbus has become known for.” Alan and Nigel have many years experience of the model business both as customers and dealers. Nigel Park says: “For many collectors finding items for their collection – even the latest releases - is becoming more and more difficult because of the demise of the traditional local model shop. We are successfully bridging that gap through a combination of personal service and wide ranging knowledge which the mainstream toy shops are not equipped to offer. Ryanbus allows us to access another group of customers and the increased size of the business will allow us to maintain and improve the quality and value of our offering.” Octo Models will now operate Ryanbus from its Yorkshire base.
