CONFIRMED RELEASE OF OXFORD DIECAST COMMISSIONED MODEL
Many thanks to David Cole who following a visit to the Isle of Man last week has sent me the following text and photographs:

"IofMT runs the buses plus the heritage rail operations on the Island and has commissioned a series of exclusive models from Oxford Diecast. The first releases had just gone on sale, models of an MER electric interurban car and a 2-4-0 narrow gauge steam locomotive. Both are well executed as would be expected from Oxford. Pictures of the MER car are attached as you might wish to include this on your site given other mentions of trams.

The models are available from bus and rail stations on the island and I understand that a mail order service will be offered. The MER car retails at £24.95".

LONDON OMNIBUS MODELS - NOT CLOSING
I have been contacted this afternoon by Lynda from London Omnibus models and advised that since she announced that they would cease selling items on 13th May, she has "been persuaded to continue for the time being!" They are no longer closing and the news announcement of 13th May can be ignored.

Tuesday 17th May 2016

LONDON OMNIBUS MODELS TO CLOSE
The following has been received today from Lynda and Chris at London Omnibus Models:

"It is with a heavy heart that due to poor health and other mitigating circumstances London Omnibus Models will cease to sell items over the next eight weeks.

We will be attending the Routemaster event at Brooklands on June 26th and then the Londoner event at West Ham Garage on July 23rd where we hope to wind down our stock.

At the events we will be selling all 1:76 models with 10% off the marked prices. (Some cheaper!) The majority of our books will be £5, and as an added bonus, the most extensive collection of Sun Star models to be sold at one time, including RTs, RMs and three Gilbow DMS', which are from my personal collection.

We also have a large amount of LT related items including e-plates, obsolete staff items and much more, which we will be happy to let go for reasonable offers.

We have been thoroughly blessed to have met the most amazing characters over the last two years and I will miss everyone greatly, but alas health comes first.

On a positive note. The Fender New Routemasters arrived today. They are our final signature model.

Thank you again for your support".

PRESS RELEASE FROM LONDON BUS MUSEUM
The following press release and flyer has been received from the London bus Museum, advertising their Routemaster Summer event on 26th June:

ROUTEMASTER SUMMER

The London Bus Museum is proud to present Routemaster Summer as it’s summer event, celebrating 60 years of London Transport’s iconic Routemaster bus and the event is supported by the Routemaster Association.

The first Routemaster bus entered service on Route 2 at Crystal Palace in February 1956 and the last was withdrawn from front line service in December 2005. In all, 2,876 Routemasters were built of which, according to the Routemaster Association, 1,280 are still in existence. They can still be seen on the streets in London and much, much further afield in various liveries and model variants and on Transport for London’s heritage Route 15 between Tower Hill and Trafalgar Square.

For enthusiasts there will be bus and other vehicle displays across the museum site as well as bus excursions to Guildford and Hampton Court.

Families can enjoy regular Horse Bus rides and young children will find fun in a Playbus and having their face painted.

Collectors can peruse in the Market Place traders’ stalls offering for sale models, books, artefacts and historical items. There will be plenty of food outlets too.

Travel to the event is easy with ample free car parking in the Heights (follow signage) or there is a free bus service throughout day on Route 462 which links passengers using SouthWest Trains arriving at Weybridge Station and Brooklands Museum.

Routemaster Summer will be held on Sunday 26th June from 09.00 to 17.00. Entrance fees are adults £11.00, children £6.00, seniors and students £10.00 and families £30.00 and the entry fee includes free entry to most attractions of Brooklands Museum. London Bus Museum and Brooklands Museum members enter for free. There is a small charge for the bus excursions, the Horse Bus and the Playbus. The advertising flyer for the event is attached for your information.

The London Bus Museum, sited within the Brooklands Museum complex in Weybridge is an independent charity and holds the world’s largest collection of historic London Buses. The museum is open daily except at Christmas and organises themed displays each year.

Further details can be found on our website at londonbusmuseum.com and on 01932 837994.
