THIRD MODEL OF RM5 PRODUCED
Further to an article in this months Model Collector Magazine, I have today received confirmation that a third version of the recently released model of RM5 has been produced. I understand that the model which has EFE stock number 36501B was a private commission by Arriva and comprised just 72 models. I further understand that all the commissioned models have been distributed to their intended recipients and none are available for public sale.

The latest edition of the Oxford Diecast newsletter Globe 114 (page 7) states tat Oxford "have tooled a Queen Mary bus" No further details are given although there is a small line drawing of a Queen Mary in Southdown livery.

CMNL consultation exercise

CMNL wishes to acknowledge the time and effort that many collectors, retailers and others who are interested in CMNL have spent by taking part in our Consultation Exercise.  CMNL says a “big thank you” to all.

Many of the e-mails and letters have expressed very valuable comment and CMNL can now announce that the majority of views that answered our questions indicate that the use of a generic style of packaging and the discontinuation of Limited Edition certificates should be the way ahead for standard-issue UKBUS / IEBUS models.

This was the view of over 80% of those who contributed to our Consultation Exercise.

The use of specific, discrete packaging and a Limited Edition certificate will be continued on all commissioned models whether they are for public sale or for private use. This will continue the feeling that they are even more special models.

Once again CMNL thanks those who took part.

NEW LT MUSEUM MODELS ANNOUNCED
The latest LT Museum Standing Order customer newsletter arrived this morning and has details of a number of new models:

RM5 modelled in its original condition
The newsletter states: " The bus has been painstakingly returned to its 1959 condition by Arriva London (complete with unique front grill and badge), on behalf of a  private sponsor. The bus will be exhibited outside London Transport Museum on Saturday 9 & Sunday 10 May, and models will also be available in the shop at the same time. Arriva have also commissioned a small number of the model with minor variation to suit their needs. This model will also be available (while stocks last) to Standing Order customers, with some also available at the Museum at the launch weekend".
