CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD LTD PRESS RELEASE
The below press release has been received this morning from CMNL:

UKBUS4009 Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian

First Pennine

Following the significant success in launching the new casting of the Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian model to the former Singapore Bus Services Ltd (SBS) specification in the livery of Metroline, Creative Master Northcord Limited is releasing a second livery – UKBUS4009 in First Pennine yellow and red colours.

UKBUS4009 has a brand new combination for the UKBUS4000 series casting, with single entrance doors, front staircase and rounded gasket windows, as well as the headlights and indicators to the Singapore Bus Services style. What makes this single-door body significant is the method of the conversion that leaves large window pillars either side of the new window where the exit doors were fitted originally.

First Pennine was the initial UK operator of Volvo Olympian registered K174 EUX following its importation from Singapore in 1999.

K174 EUX, nowadays carrying First’s national fleet number 30107, originated in the Singapore Bus Services fleet as SBS 7204J where it had entered service in 1994.

UKBUS4009 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the UKBUS4009 model is its new window and interior modification (with the fitted luggage pen) at the position of the original rear door. It is one of the significant achievements on this new casting. The rounded headlight and indicator units at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic.

The brand new single-door Alexander Royale Volvo Olympian double-deck bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), Transit Graphic (Australia), cnmycar.com (P.R. of China), and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS4009 model is limited to 1400 pieces worldwide.

CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD LTD PRESS RELEASE
The below press release has been received today from CMNL:

Stagecoach in Cambridge – pink & ride

UKBUS1030 Alexander ALX400 Dennis Trident

CMNL is proud to release one of the most interesting liveries on its well-known casting – the Alexander ALX 400-bodied Dennis Trident. This is UKBUS1030 carrying the special livery of “Pink & Ride”.

This model represents Stagecoach in Cambridge 17007 (S807 BWC).

In a campaign to fight Breast Cancer in Cambridgeshire, supported jointly by Cambridgeshire County Council, Cancer Research UK and Stagecoach, Cancer Research UK has benefited from funds raised on the Park & Ride buses operated by Stagecoach in Cambridge during October 2006.

On each Tuesday that month Stagecoach donated 50% of the Park & Ride return bus fares, of £2 or £1.50, to the campaign fund and, to highlight the campaign even further, the company repainted one of its fleet of Park & Ride buses into a pink version of the Park & Ride livery.

The chosen bus was former Stagecoach London Dennis Trident / Alexander ALX400 17007 and this carries slogans “Think Pink”, “Let’s fight breast cancer in Cambridgeshire” and “Pink & Ride” to highlight the campaign beyond the initial stages.

The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door and engine detail. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model also has no unnecessary metal poles to hold it together.

The brand new model of Stagecoach in Cambridge ‘pink & ride’ is based on a Limited Edition of 1600 pieces produced. They will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphic (Australia), cnmycar.com (P.R. of China), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

TWO PRESS RELEASES FROM CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD LTD
The two press releases below have been received this morning from CMNL:

UKBUS3026 Alexander Dennis Mini Pointer-bodied Dart

First Hampshire & Dorset

Further to the great success of the First Hampshire & Dorset Scania OmniCity “ZIP” bus models, CMNL is releasing its second bus model from this operator.  This is an Alexander Dennis MPD with eye-catching “CONNECTION” route-branding decoration.

The First Hampshire & Dorset UKBUS3026 MPD replica carries the fleet number 43847 and registration number SN55 CXJ.

In October 2005, new buses were introduced to operate specifically between Southampton City Centre and the village of Hamble, which nestles on the banks of the river Hamble near to where it joins the Solent. The thirty minute journey passes through the eastern outskirts of the city through Woolston, Netley, Butlocks Heath to Hamble where it terminates in the square.

43847 is one of a batch of four Alexander Dennis Mini Pointer Darts which are based at Portswood depot in Southampton for this route. They carry the current version of the Barbie 1 livery which is enhanced with the eye-catching ‘Southampton-Hamble Connection’ route branding. All the buses are fitted with Euro 3 engines and bonded windows.

This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the bonded windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model also features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door, showing the detailed, environmentally friendly engine. All grab rails feature inside the replica and in their correct positions. The construction method of this replica permits realistic-looking front and rear lights – in particular the front headlamp / indicator assembly whose headlamp is transparent and indicator is translucent.

The brand new UKBUS3026 First Hampshire & Dorset MPD bus models are limited to 1600 pieces produced. It will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. of China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

UKBUS5013 Mercedes-Benz Citaro

uni-link Southampton

Creative Master Northcord Limited is proud to release another brand new livery on its well known Mercedes-Benz Citaro casting, UKBUS5013 uni-link Southampton.

UKBUS5013 represents fleet number 80 (HF06 FUB).

Unilink Citaro fleet number 80, together with number 79, entered service in April 2006. These buses were provided to increase the frequency and capacity of the highly successful U1A and U1C services operating between Southampton Docks, City Centre and the Airport via the University.

The Mercedes-Benz Citaros have the same interior layout of 2+1 seating and single entrance / exit door as those delivered to the Wilts & Dorset Bus Company (UKBUS5011).

Unilink is operated by Accord Operations Ltd, who work in partnership with the University of Southampton, and provide bus services for the University and the travelling public on scheduled local services.

UKBUS5013 features the smooth, curved windscreen with the destination display set behind the windscreen glass.

Mercedes-Benz Citaro UKBUS5013 model is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted, double-glazed windows and the livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on both models is the extensive portrayal of handrails. The headlight / indicator units at the front and indicator / tail light units at the rear are made of individual components to look more realistic.

The brand new single-door Mercedes-Benz Citaro bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), Transit Graphics (Australia), cnmycar.com (P. R. of China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS5013 models are limited to 1500 pieces worldwide respectively.

CORGI 2007 - WHAT DOES "SKU" MEAN?
I have been asked what the word "SKU" stands for in last nights news article. My understanding is that is stands for: ""Stock Keeping Unit - the unique identifying number for an item sold in a retail store"" e.g. OM45118 which relates to Metrobus - London Transport (I appreciate there may also be slightly different definitions of this term, but this is my understanding of it).

Thursday 15 March 2007

CORGI 2007
I received the copy of the below letter, from a trader who in turn had received it from their wholesaler, I thought it might be of interest:

"""Dear Customer,

It has been eight weeks since the formation of the new Corgi International business and as communicated in February, the new management team has used this time to undertake a strategic review, particularly with regard to lines for 2007.  Changes have been made to ensure that going forward we give you and the consumer, a more focused, collectable and above all, desirable die-cast range.

As you will have seen on the list sent on the 27th Feb, the decision has been made to defer approximately 35 per cent of the SKUs originally intended for this year.  With regard to the remaining SKU count, we will trim production to a level which is sustainable for the marketplace meaning that some runs have been reduced by around 50 per cent.  When placing their revised order, customers should therefore be aware that this will lead to the sell out of many forthcoming lines before release.   That said, we have increased quotas on certain popular models to help meet demand.

In addition, the Company will cease to offer any customer ''Roll Over Stock''.  Due to the new production numbers customers are urged to buy the product they need to meet their own demands.

Also, our revised production levels mean that we will no longer have need of de-certification.  In the past, this policy has meant that collectors have waited for product rather than purchasing it on release.  However, we hope that in the future improved sell through of models will mean that residual stock will no longer be available.

Alongside the Collector rationalisation we are also ceasing the Toy Early Buy Scheme. This scheme has been a complicated programme and this change compliments our desire to create a more simplified selling process for the whole business.

Our final communication is reference the Anniversary vouchers placed in special Anniversary packs during 2006. The closing date for redemption of these vouchers with Corgi is 31st March 2007, as planned. We will not be honouring vouchers after this date. Please also bear in mind that these vouchers represent a consumer incentive and therefore any vouchers not completed with the correct details on the reverse will not be valid under the terms of this scheme.

Once these policies have taken place, we are sure that you will start to see some real growth, resulting in increased sales.  The measures will start to take effect immediately and will mean the re-emergence of the Corgi brand to all consumers.

I would like to take this opportunity to re-affirm that the new management team is very excited to be a part of the new Corgi, and we look forward to bringing a whole new generation of collectors to the fun world of collecting Corgi die-cast.

Yours sincerely,

Darren Epstein

Director

EVP Corgi"""
