NORTHCORD MODEL COMPANY - PRESS RELEASE
UKBUS6039 & UKBUS6043 Alexander-Dennis Enviro400 Stagecoach London and First London Northcord Model Company is proud to release its first two London bus models on the former CMNL Enviro400 tooling. This is launched on UKBUS6039, Stagecoach London, and UKBUS6043, First London. Both models feature the latest specifications requested by Transport for London and include the current, modern version of London “Buses” Roundel. UKBUS6039 depicts Stagecoach London ADL Enviro400 19729, LX11 AZR. This vehicle, which was new in March 2011, is one of 31 identical Enviro400s based at Stagecoach London’s Rainham Garage for use on Transport for London contracted route 174 (Dagenham–Harold Hill) and 287 (Barking–Rainham). The ADL Enviro400 has become the Stagecoach London standard bus for new double deck deliveries and a total of 235 are now operated by the company including 26 E400H hybrid versions. UKBUS6043 features First London DN33638 (SN11 BPO) carrying the standard Transport for London all-red livery, working on route 26 bound for Waterloo in Central London. The replicas feature excellent detailing, inside and out, such as realistic-looking handpoles and handrails. The Enviro400 model is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The brand new UKBUS6039 and UKBUS6043 models are each based on a Limited Edition of only 504 pieces produced. UKBUS6039 Alexander-Dennis Enviro400

PETER
TAYLOR I was saddened to hear of the death yesterday of Peter Taylor (after a lengthy illness) who submitted a number of photographs to me for inclusion on the Gallery pages. His good friend John Bennett (one of my regular contributors) told me that Peter "was interested in all forms of transport, particularly liked AEC buses as he had worked for them for a while – he was brought up in Southall." At Johns suggestion as a tribute to Peter I have published below three photographs of London United MCW Metrobus M1069 in the commemorative livery as represented by Corgi OOC model 45108. SURPRISE
RELEASE OF BRITBUS MODEL Many thanks to peter at Yardley Wood for advising me that the last model announced by Britbus (in January 2011) was unexpectedly released yesterday. I was made aware sometime ago of rumours that there were significant quality control issues with this model (which delayed the release) but heard nothing further. Peter advises that the certificates indicate a quantity of 504 models (but he is not sure if this is correct as his models vary in numbers from 1 to 145) so I am not sure of the actual quantity released. LLB-10 Leyland Lowlander East Midlands CLICK HERE CANCELLED SUNSTAR MODEL Sunstar H2929 AEC RT 1939 RT1 - Cancelled "I regret to inform you that we will cancel our next RT model item 2929 (1939 RT1 - EYK 396 (Red) First On-Road RT). Item 2929 is suppose to be our first London Bus since year 2011. However we find that there are a lot of complications on the tools and many additional parts are required to assemble that bus. Due to the high costs involved, we have no choice but to cancel. I would appreciate if you could amend your records accordingly." Friday 19th July 2013 |
