NORTHCORD MODEL COMPANY - PRESS RELEASE
The following press release was received at 09:00 this morning from the Northcord Model Company:

UKBUS6202 Alexander Dennis Enviro400 - Stagecoach Bluebird

Northcord Model Company is proud to release its first model of the UKBUS6200 range on the former CMNL long wheelbase Enviro400 tooling. This is UKBUS6202, replicated in the fleet of Stagecoach Bluebird carrying classic Stagecoach Stripes & Chevrons livery. UKBUS6202 features Stagecoach Bluebird 19377 (OO05BLU) working on route 727 to Aberdeen Airport. 19377 was new to Stagecoach Bluebird in October 2008 carrying the registration number SV58BNB and painted in standard Stagecoach ‘beachball’ livery. The bus was soon allocated to Stagecoach Highlands for service in Fort William with ‘the fort link’ branding.

Stagecoach Bluebird 19377 was repainted at Tullos from ‘beachball’ to ‘Retro Stripes’ in August 2022 and the registration number was changed to OO05BLU at the same time. It is important to highlight that, due to concerns with Health and Safety issues, the roof was not repainted at this time and it still carries ‘beachball’ livery; this situation is also replicated on repaints from ‘beachball’ into the new “local” livery in some other Stagecoach subsidiary fleets.

A further quirk with this replica is that, although on paper the registration is OO05BLU, differentiating between letter and numeral characters, the actual bus carries 0005BLU where the current registration digits do not differentiate between “O” and “0”.

The replicas feature excellent detailing, inside and out, such as realistic-looking handpoles and handrails. The Enviro400 model is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible.

The brand new UKBUS6202 bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), 80M Bus Model Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS6202 is based on a Limited Edition of only 1008 pieces produced.

NORTHCORD MODEL COMPANY - PRESS RELEASE
The following press release has been received this morning from the Northcord Model Company:

UKBUS9501 Scania OmniCity double-deck - National Express West Midlands

Northcord Model Company is proud to release its first model of the UKBUS9500 range.

This is UKBUS9501, using the Scania OmniCity double-deck casting and carrying the vintage livery with West Midlands fleetnames. The model as replicated is National Express West Midlands 4780 (BU08EHZ) on route 67 to Birmingham with ‘via Tyburn Road’ carried in the front destination. 4780 was new to Perry Barr garage in March 2008 carrying registration BV57XLB. The registration was soon changed to BU08EHZ after about two weeks. 4780 was repainted with West Midlands PTE livery in June 2019 and named ‘Brian Robinson’ accordingly.

The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out, such as realistic-looking handpoles and handrails. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. To achieve a smoother look the glazing has been affixed from the outside of the metal bodyshell.

The brand new UKBUS9501 bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), 80M Bus Model Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS9501 model is limited to 1200 pieces worldwide.

EFE UPDATE
Many thanks to Peter at Yardley Wood Bus Club for advising me that Bachmann will be making the new Cravens RT models available generally to the trade. They will no longer be Bachmann Stockists exclusive. In addition, a number of previously released models that were previously only available from Bachmann stockists, will now be made available to the trade. Finally, I have heard from my contact at Bachmann who advised me that the “Cravens should be on their way ex-factory in the next month or so, all being well. I’ve seen photos from the production line so they’re well on with it”.

Further to my post of 21st July, Chris from The Buckie Model Centre has advised me that pre-ordering has now opened for the first three models with delivery due in October/November.

To order, visit the Buckie Model Centre website www.buckiemodelcentre.com go to the search field and search for “Panorama” and the models will come up. They will be priced at £56.00 each plus postage. Chris advises, that if you want to purchase more than model, please contact him via the Buckie Model Centre website and he will advise the cost of postage.

BUCKIE MODEL CENTRE – PRE-PRODUCTION PHOTOGRAPH
Please see a photograph showing early pre-production samples of the first three Plaxton Panorama models. Chris from The Buckie Model Centre has advised that these are first prints of the models and some improvements are still to be made prior to the models going into production.
Chris has also advised me that the models will be available to order at the end of this month with delivery the end of September or early October. The price is not fixed at the moment due to the fluctuations in the exchange rates and import fees, Chris will set price as soon as possible.
