NEW FEATURE ADDED TO SITE
I have added a "Diary Page" to the site. I am extremely grateful to John Bennett who has put in a considerable amount of work in compiling a list of Toy Fairs for the whole of 2005. At present I have listed just those for February and March 2005. I would appreciate assistance from anyone who is able to supply details of Bus Rallies and  Museum events for 2005 as I have only a few dates at present. If you are able to send me details please email them to me. I will be updating this page further and making amendments to layout etc over the new few weeks.

TWO PRESS RELEASES FROM CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD LTD

UKBUS1015 Alexander ALX400 - bodied Dennis Trident

Cambridge Park & Ride

Most Park and Ride services in the UK are achieving successful results. The operators put much attention to improve the network as well as the service performance. Having introduced the models in Oxford Park & Ride colours, Creative Master Northcord Limited (CMNL) has proudly released its second Park & Ride bus model. It is UKBUS1015, an Alexander ALX 400-bodied dual door Dennis Trident for Cambridge Park & Ride service.

In conjunction with the County Council, Stagecoach in Cambridge has operated the park-&-ride services with various types of buses, progressing from midi-bus to full-size single-deckers. Nowadays, the routes are operated using low-floor, easy access Dennis Tridents with Alexander ALX400 bodywork dating from 1999. In order to help passengers disembark quickly at busy times, they feature a 2-door layout.

To aid passengers’ recognition of the route they want, the buses used on these services are colour coded: Madingley Road – City – Newmarket Road in red livery, Cowley Road – City – Babraham Road in green livery and Trumpington – City – Grafton Centre in blue. A further variation is the generic, fawn version that is not route branded, and can operate on any route.

UKBUS1015 represents 17010 (S810 BWC) and is in the blue livery for buses dedicated to the Trumpington Park and Ride route.

The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door and engine detail. It is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Like all CMNL bus replicas, the models have no metal poles to hold them together.

UKBUS1015 is limited to 1800 pieces worldwide. The brand new bus model will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

UKBUS1018 TransBus ALX 400 - bodied Trident

First London

There is good news for both London bus model collectors and British bus model collectors. Creative Master Northcord Limited (CMNL) has proudly released its latest bus models for First London, one of the well- known bus operators in the Capital. It is UKBUS1018, a TransBus ALX 400-bodied dual door Trident.

UKBUS1018 carries fleet number TAL1348 (LK53 FCG) representing the significant features on the bus. They are all combined for the first time on the ALX 400 tooling i.e. a one-piece front upper windscreen, 2 monitors inside the bus, a new anti-branch feature and new light clusters at the back of the model.

The bus itself had written some records in both First Bus and British bus history. TAL 1348 was one of 44 new double-deckers allocated to Westbourne Park depot for the one-person conversion of Routemaster-operated route 23 (Ladbroke Grove to Liverpool Street) in November 2003. All 44 are TransBus Trident 2 chassis with TransBus ALX 400 bodywork (the last new TransBus products purchased by First for London operations) and feature Cummins Euro 3 engines and ZF gearboxes.

The small white fleet numbers on the front were only a temporary measure due to the impending national renumbering scheme (during 2004 TAL1348 became TNA33348). The television screens in the upper deck front windscreen and also at the bottom of the stairs were fitted for advertising purposes and also display CCTV images to remind passengers that they are being recorded.

The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door and engine detail. It is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Like all CMNL bus replicas, the models have no metal poles to hold them together.

UKBUS1018 is limited to 1800 pieces worldwide. The brand new bus model will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.

PRESS RELEASE FROM CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD LTD

Dennis / Plaxton Mini Pointer Dart

UKBUS3010 Bluebird Bus / UKBUS3012 SPT

Further to the previous successful release of the Mini Pointer Dart replicas in other operators’ colours, CMNL is releasing another two MPD models. These are UKBUS3010 Bluebird Bus & Coach and UKBUS3012 Strathclyde Passenger Transport (SPT).

Bluebird Bus & Coach is North Manchester’s leading independent operator of local bus services. The UKBUS3010 MPD replica carries the fleet number 27 and registration number MP04 BLU.

Bluebird pioneered the use of low-floor, fully accessible buses in 1997, converting whole services to ensure that intending passengers were guaranteed the benefits of these modern buses well in advance of the Disability Discrimination Act that covers bus design. The bus fleet is now 100% low-floor, fully accessible with further deliveries due shortly.

SPT is one of seven Passenger Transport Executives in the UK and the only one in Scotland. SPT contracts in about 200 bus services in the west of Scotland through various operators. UKBUS3012 represents a Dennis / Plaxton Mini Pointer Dart (SN03 LFV), operated by Avondale Coaches of Clydebank on behalf of SPT. This firm delivers Dial-a-Bus demand responsive services in North Ayrshire. Dial-a-bus helps the elderly and disabled get out and about.

Both MPDs are one-piece castings whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The models also feature excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door, showing the detailed, environmentally friendly Euro 3 engine. All grab rails feature inside the replicas and are in their correct positions. The construction method of these replicas permits realistic-looking front and rear lights – in particular the front headlamp / indicator assembly on both models, whose headlamp is transparent and indicator is translucent, and the translucent rear, red lights on UKBUS3012.

The brand new UKBUS3010 and UKBUS3012 bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively.
