MASTER NORTHCORD - PRESS RELEASE UKBUS1048 Alexander Dennis ALX400-bodied Trident Stagecoach in Hull CMNL is proud to release another brand new livery on its well-known casting – the Alexander Dennis ALX400-bodied Trident. This is UKBUS1048 carrying the special “110 Years of Service in Hull” livery. This model features Stagecoach in Hull 18435 (YN06 LMM). 2009 was to see the 110th Anniversary of the former Kingston upon Hull Corporation Transport Department and to celebrate this, Stagecoach in Hull has painted two of its Dennis Tridents in Anniversary liveries. 18435 is one of a batch of 11 Alexander Dennis-bodied Tridents (18425 – 18435) which entered service in April 2006. This vehicle has been repainted in the famous 1930s “Streamline” livery which was first introduced on the motorbus fleet in 1935. The original livery was to feature the white band above the lower saloon windows, but after the Second World War, this was removed, only the white around the “Corporation Transport” fleet name was kept. 18435 left the paintshop on the 5th July 2009, the 110th birthday of the birth of Hull City Tramways, along with the sister bus 18434 which has been painted in the 1972 livery which replaced the Streamlined livery. Both buses can be seen around the city because the livery is being retained for three years. The replica features excellent detailing, inside and out. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model has no unnecessary metal poles to hold it together. The brand new UKBUS1048 model is based on a Limited Edition of 1000 pieces produced. They will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), cnmycar.com (P.R. China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. MASTER NORTHCORD - PRESS RELEASE UKBUS4016 Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian First West Yorkshire There having been a relatively long silence in the UKBUS4000 series model range, it is the right time to recall this most successful classic British double-decker in the last two decades. This is the Olympian. Creative Master Northcord Limited is proud to make the official announcement of UKBUS4016, the Alexander Royale-bodied Volvo Olympian in special, commemorative First livery, complete with its First Group specifications. This is the second livery to feature such a layout on the well known Alexander Royale single door casting. The model represents fleet number 30843 (T663 VWU), with the special “125 Years of buses in Huddersfield” livery. The model is depicted on service 539 bound for Halifax via Stainland. 30843 – Built in March 1999 and first registered on 19th May, it first entered service in Halifax on 9th June of that year in standard First Group livery as fleet number 5663. Being fitted with a tachograph for private hire work, it was never route branded and operated mainly on the Halifax to Leeds route 508, Halifax to Bradford route 576 and Halifax to Huddersfield route 503. On 12th January 2003 it was re-numbered as 30843 in First Group’s national numbering scheme. Transferred to Huddersfield Depot in March 2004, it was subsequently painted into the old Huddersfield Corporation bus livery on 7th January 2008 to commemorate 125 years of bus operation in the town. It represented First West Yorkshire at the Showbus rally in September 2008. First placed a total of 158 Alexander ‘Royale’-bodied Volvo Olympians into service from 1997-1999. These were allocated to Glasgow, Central Scotland, Edinburgh, Manchester and West Yorkshire. UKBUS4016 is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the square-mounted gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. Another main feature on the UKBUS4016 model is its ‘split-level’ entry / entrance door which is used for the second time on the casting. Again, it has extensive handrails on both upper deck and lower deck. It is one of the significant achievements on this casting. The headlight and indicator units at the front are made of individual components to look more realistic. The brand new single-door Alexander Royale Volvo Olympian double-deck bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Transit Graphics (Australia), Porte Publishing Company (Japan), cnmycar.com (P.R. China) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. The UKBUS4016 model is limited to 1000 pieces worldwide. Photograph1
