ISSUE OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE FOR ALDENHAM WORKS GIFT SET Further to my News following the London Bus Museum Spring Gathering, Bachmann have issued an official press release regarding the Gift set: First of the new EFE Releases "At the Cobham Spring Gathering 2017 held at Brooklands and attended by the Bachmann Roadshow Team, Bachmann announced the first of the new EFE releases due in the Autumn. Displayed in the new Bachmann designed packaging which heralds the arrival of the first vehicles to be ordered by the company since it acquired the Exclusive First Editions brand last October, was a twin pack (E99938) commemorating the Aldenham Works open day in 1983. ‘The Aldenham Spectacular’ was the name chosen for the Aldenham Works Open Day in 1983, which was one of several held over the year at different garages to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the formation of London Transport. Aldenham Works was originally built as part of the 1930's Northern Line rail extension to Bushey Heath, which was never completed due to the outbreak of the Second World War. With the rail plans abandoned, London Transport used the works as bus overhaul facility, opening for operation in 1956. Aldenham closed in 1986. The pack will comprise of two Leyland Titan vehicles with T112 in London Buses livery & T66 in London General Aldenham Diplomat livery. The twin pack is now available to pre-order through Bachmann stockists at a recommended retail price of £59.95 for the two-bus pack. It will be available in October 2017". PRESS RELEASE FROM RAPIDO TRAINS INC The following press release and photographs have been received from Canadian model manufacturer Rapido Trains Inc: Rapido Bus 3D Scanning Event: Canadian model bus company to do a 3D scan for its first British bus model, and the public is welcome! Markham, Ontario, Canada - Rapido Trains Inc. - Canada's foremost manufacturer of model trains and buses - has recently expanded into the British model market. Its recent offerings in OO and N gauge have each won "Model of the Year" in the British Model Railway Awards. Rapido's recently-announced 1/87 scale "Fishbowl" New Look Bus has turned the North American model bus market on its head, offering a level of detail never before seen in a small-scale bus, including full interior with individual seats, separate grab poles, steerable front wheels and working lighting. Now Rapido is turning to the British model bus market with its first 1/76 scale British bus model. The model will be announced at the Rapido Bus 3D Scanning Event on 16 July 2017 at the Transport Museum Wythall. Rapido will be doing a 3D scan of a real classic British double-decker bus in order to ensure that the model matches the actual shape precisely. Rapido Managing Director Jason Shron will be on hand to answer questions about the model, the model making process, and the history of the Canadian firm. Classic Birmingham City Transport and Midland Red buses will be operating on the day and rides are complimentary to all museum visitors, who will also receive complimentary badges and other Rapido swag. BUS MUSEUM SPRING GATHERING I have just returned from the London Bus Museum Spring Gathering. The weather was hot and Sunny, with a temperature of about 25 degrees. The two London Bus Museum Jotus T & TD resin models were selling very well and any remaining stock will go on sale on the Museums web shop on Wednesday www.lbmshop.com. Bachmann had a display with a number of models on view including their forthcoming previously announced models along with a selection of models from their Graham Farrish n-gauge bus range and also models from their Pocket Bond range. 3 members of staff were on the stand to talk to collectors. They announced a new two bus EFE gift set and a new model, see details below. I hope to publish some photographs later: 99938
