There is no limit to the number purchased by each customer. Please see the attached press release for details. In addition, after the Mail Order EFE GS models have been despatched, we have a number of them spare (due to customers buying them elsewhere etc). These will also be released at 10.00 Wednesday 1 June. There is a limit of one per customer on these models, and they are priced at £19.99 (the recommended retail price. Our special model for Acton Depot weekend on 4 and 5 June is an EFE 10T10 on Green Line Route E from Hemel Hempstead to Edenbridge. This bus is limited to 500 pieces, and will ONLY be available to customers who visit Acton. No mail order will be accepted. The price is £22.99 and to give the fairest possible chance to all visitors, a limit of two per customer will be in force. We are often asked whether we keep stocks for the Sunday if the model is really popular, and I am pleased to confirm that there is always an allocation for both days. The depot is open both days from 11.00 to 17.00 (last admission 16.00). Finally Transport for London have indicated that they no longer have a need for a 'reserve' of Routemaster models, and consequently we have released the last 400 of the individually boxed EFE Routemaster model that was represented in the Millennium Bus Set. The code for this model is 15628 (no suffix) and is RM 2000 on Route 102. The Model retails for £17.99 and is available now". London’s Transport Museum Back the Bid - Launch of limited edition bus model London’s Transport Museum are launching a new model bus to celebrate London’s bid to host the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in 2012. The model, manufactured by Corgi Classics Ltd, accurately represents a Wright’s Gemini bodied double deck bus in the London Olympic Bid livery. The 40 Back the Bid buses were officially launched in September 2004 as part of a publicity campaign demonstrating TfL and the Mayor’s total commitment to bring the Games to London in 2012. The model is based on the ‘wrapped’ buses you may see on Arriva operated route 29.
|
The model, packaged in a special Olympic Bid box, is manufactured to 1:76 scale (00 scale) which is compatible with most model railway layouts. Only 2000 Back the Bid models have been commissioned by the Museum. They will be available to purchase from 1 June at the Museum’s shop in The Piazza, Covent Garden at £24.99. Sebastian Coe, Chairman of London 2012 said: "We are very grateful for the support of TfL for our campaign to bring the Games to London. The branded buses have been highly visible and are seen all over the capital. They have been a fantastic way to urge the public to get behind the bid and register their support for our campaign. NEWS
ARTICLE OF LAST EVENING - A CORRECTION I have to correct my news article of last evening as I understand it has caused some confusion. I referred to the Britbus LT Museum Commissioned model hopefully being dispatched to the UK this week. It is in fact a standard release model that Britbus are hoping to dispatch and the model number/details should have read: AS2-03 AEC Swift SMS Class London Transport, not as originally published Unfortunately when preparing the article I misread and then typed the wrong model number. I apologise for any confusion this error may have caused. I have amended last nights article to save any further confusion. I am very grateful to Steve Edmonds for bringing the mistake to my attention. Tuesday 26th April 2005 |

2ND HALF 2005 CATALOGUE - EXTRA LARGE IMAGES In response to an email from a visitor to the site last evening who was unable to read the text on the images of the new Corgi catalogue, I have uploaded extra large versions of the files. Depending on the screen resolution you are viewing the site on they may be too large to display fully on the screen and you may have to use the scroll bars on your browser to move around the images. Please note these files are also a lot larger than those usually used on the site (all are about 200kb in size) and if not viewing on Broadband may take a considerable time to download. If you would prefer to look at the smaller images then please click on the links in the news update of Wednesday 20th April below. Corgi Classics

PRESS
RELEASE FROM CREATIVE MASTER NORTHCORD LTD
Dennis / Plaxton Mini Pointer Dart ----UKBUS3013 East Yorkshire Further to the previous successful release of the Mini Pointer Dart replicas with other operators’ colours, CMNL is releasing another MPD model. This is UKBUS3013 carrying East Yorkshire Motor Services livery. The East Yorkshire MPD replica carries the fleet number 495 and registration number YX04 JVY. It was delivered from manufacturer’s stock in 2004 and initially operated in all white. Since then it has been repainted into fleet colours, has gained an LED destination screen yet retains a non-standard interior. EYMS employs a fleet of Mini-Pointer Darts across its network of services in all areas that it serves, ranging from within the city of Hull to more rural areas in the Wolds and on the town network in Scarborough where ‘Scarborough and District’ fleetnames are carried. These buses offer their customers the accessibility benefits of full-size buses whilst tailored to meet power levels of demand and easy manoeuvrability within narrow roads or housing estates. This is a one-piece casting whose clean lines accentuate the gasket windows and livery application on which all logos and lettering are clearly legible. The model also features excellent detailing, inside and out, including an opening engine door, showing the detailed, environmentally friendly Euro 3 engine. All grab rails feature inside the replica and in their correct positions. The construction method of this replica permits realistic-looking front and rear lights – in particular the front headlamp / indicator assembly whose headlamp is transparent and indicator is translucent. The brand new UKBUS3013 East Yorkshire MPD bus models will be distributed by John Ayrey Die-Casts Limited (UK), Porte Publishing Company (Japan) and Concorde Hobby Shop (HK) respectively. Creative Master Northcord Limited (CMNL) ------The World’s Miniature Bus Co. Note from Gareth: This model is certificated at 1600 Pieces
